This page was created to raise money for the Flinders Medical Centre Intensive and Critical Care unit in conjuction with the FMC Foundation, In Loving Memory of Alexander William Aunger.

Alex was a remarkable young man who lived life to the fullest. He was an avid lover of the outdoors; whether it was jumping out of a willow tree, clearing the wake on a kneeboard or riding a barrel on his body board, he did everything with his trademark cheeky grin. His infectious character impacted not only his family, friends and loved ones, he made a positive impact on anyone who had the pleasure to meet him.

Alex's life on this earth was tragically cut short earlier this year on June 18th 2012 at the age of 18. The money raised through this page will be 100% donated to the FMC Foundation and go towards supporting the Intensive and Critical Care Unit.

If you could find it in your hearts to contribute to this cause and  honour the special life of Alex Aunger, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Wayne was born on Saturday, 26th November 1955 in Loxton, SA. He was the oldest of four children born to Blue (dec) & Shirley Flavel.  He initially started school in Loxton but later when the family had shifted to Peebinga, he attended Browns Well Area School and later Loxton High School. He shifted to Adelaide in 1974 and commenced training as a Telecom Technician.  During his teenage and early adult years he spent many many hours with friends riding his motorbike in Peebinga & Sunset country; building "the hybrid" and chasing roos & emus outback.  He shifted to the Northern Territory in 1976 and apart from a short time spent in Alice Springs and back in Clare, SA, he lived almost two thirds of his life in Darwin.  He worked as Senior Technician for the NT Government up until the time of his passing. He loved nothing more than to get out on his beloved VMax or to sit with family & friends enjoying a beer or two or three. He was a highly intelligent man with a wicked sense of humour and a very keen wit. He did not suffer fools easily but was generous of spirit and love toward those he cared for.  He is survived by his precious and much loved daughter, Cara and his partner Louise.

You were an amazing man who had experienced a full life from surviving being bombed in Barrow-in-Furness, defusing bombs in the Air Force and bringing your young family to Australia so they could have every opportunity in life. Along with gorgeous Glenda, you have raised four awesome (oh yeah) children who are all still very close and who love you very much. Rest peacefully, dad. The kettle's on!
